Coffee IS good for us – Huzzah!
Right, that’s it, it’s confirmed – coffee is doing us good after all!
Scientific research, which on this occasion I’m choosing to believe, shows that coffee decreases the risk of depression. Keep drinking it -folks. Apparently the mood boosting effect of coffee lasts much longer than the actual caffeine fix…so basically if we chain-drink coffee we’ll all be happy!
‘Our results support a possible protective effect of caffeine, mainly from coffee consumption on risk of depression,’ says Dr Michael Lucas from the Harvard School of Public Health in Boston.
‘Further investigations are needed to confirm this finding and to determine whether usual caffeinated coffee consumption may contribute to prevention or treatment of depression.’
