Fashion takes a step forward for charity
Pneumonia kills more children than HIV, malaria and measles combined and for every child lost to the disease in an industrialised country, more than 2,000 die in the developing world. Save The Children has announced a public appeal to ask that we all donate our heels to provide life saving drugs.
World Pneumonia Day was a couple of days ago and the ‘Killer Heels’ campaign was backed by famous names including Nicole Farhi and Manolo Blahnik, Sienna Miller (who donated a cream Sergi Rossi pair) and Nigela Lawson. Samantha Cameron has also donated her ‘lucky’ heels.
It’s not too late to join in and show your support by donating a pair of high heels to any Save The Children shop and help trample down the child death toll for pneumonia. Visit http://www.savethechildren.org.uk for more info. Which shoes will you donate?
